John is an energy industry veteran with over 30 years of experience in the development, acquisition, commercial execution, and financing of renewable, energy storage and natural gas fired independent power projects. He is an Operating Partner with Sandbrook Capital, Voltwise’s primary investor, and has served as a board member of Voltwise since 2025. Prior to joining Sandbrook, John launched and served as CEO of R3 Renewables, a joint venture launched in 2022 to develop large-scale solar+storage projects on reclaimed coal mine ground. Prior to the launch of R3, John served as an advisor to Riverstone Holdings focused on storage, solar, and distributed energy investments. Previously, he was Managing Director at GE Energy Financial Services, where he originated equity investments in independent power projects across a range of technologies. Before GE, John was instrumental in the growth of Invenergy’s wind business and the launch of Lincoln Clean Energy (now Ørsted North America Onshore).
