Voltwise has signed and closed a transaction to acquire the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) division from SMS; which brings 460MW of BESS assets in operation and under construction across the UK.
The acquisition sees Voltwise significantly increase its UK footprint, marking a key step in the Company’s growth strategy to become a leading, BESS-focussed, Independent Power Producer across Europe. The combined business includes operating, construction and development assets and is supported by a strong suite of capabilities.
The portfolio comprises seven operating BESS projects with capacity of 320MW / 350MWh, four projects under construction with a capacity of 140MW / 280MWh and a number of development assets expanding Voltwise’s existing pipeline.
